The Marella Discovery 2's cruise scheduled for January 31 has been cancelled due to "technical reasons affecting food and beverage service". The cruise was scheduled to visit Kingston, Jamaica; Cartagena, Colombia; Colon, Panama; and Puerto Limon, Costa Rica.
A letter sent to guests on board is quoted below.
“Due to an unforeseen technical issue that will impact our ability to deliver our full food and beverage offering, we’re very sorry to tell you that we’ve taken the difficult decision to cancel our next sailing, our Pride of Panama itinerary, It’s not a conclusion we’ve come to lightly, but we’re not able to offer a suitable alternative cruise.”
The ship suffered thruster issues during the previous cruise.
Guests will be flown home via commercial and chartered flights if necessary. They will also be given full refunds as well as vouchers for a future cruise in the amount of $370 per adult and $185 per child.
