Things Not To Do On Your Cruise

  • Don't smoke on your balcony, most lines have designated smoking areas.
  • On your balcony (Many lines have cameras that record parts of the ship, including many balconies to monitor the ship)
    • No Smoking
    • No Fishing
    • If you have sex on your balcony, keep in mind you may be on camera or your cabin neighbors can see/hear you.  If you are in port, obviously people on shore may be able to see you.
  • No electrical appliances that have a heating element.  This poses a risk of fire on board and will likely be confiscated during check in.
  • Don't flush anything down the toilet other than toilet paper.  Anything else may clog the plumbing and and overflow of water on board is always a bad thing.
  • Do not use a surge protector, this can cause a fire.
  • Nothing with an open flame including candles.  Smoke detectors are very sensitive and this may result in overhead sprinklers coming on in your room.
  • If you have a minibar in your room, check if the items are included in your drinks package (if you purchased one).  Don't be surprised by a fee at the end of the cruise.
  • All items in your room are monitored, including towels, pillows, bath robes, etc.  You will be charged for taking them home with you.
  • If you want to put something on your door, bring magnets with you.  Don't use tape, nails, tacks, etc.  Wall decorations must be made of non-flammable materials.
  • Use your do no disturb when you are in your room, especially if you are going into the bathroom.  Cabin stewards may come in your room at anytime and you don't want to walk out of the bathroom naked and have a stranger in your room.
  • Don't make extra work for your in room steward.  You don't have to clean your own cabin, but keep it neat.  The stewards have a lot of work to do with no days off, so be considerate.
