Carnival Cruise Line Operations Updates (Updated Feb 2026)


This page will hold all changes for Carnival Cruise Line and will be a running update. 

Changes are bullet pointed below:

April 2026:

  • Daily gratuity will increase by $1 per day
  • Bottomless Bubbles Beverage Package increasing to $11.99 per person per day from $9.50, Children will remain the same price

December 2023:

  • Wi-Fi price increases (Pre-Cruise Pricing)
    • Social Plan - $15.30 per day from $12.75 
    • Value Plan - $19.55 per day from $17.00
    • Premium Plan - $21.25 per day from $18.70
  • Wi-Fi price increases (On Board Pricing)
    • Social Plan - $18.00 per day from $15.00
    • Value Plan - $23.00 per day from $20.00 (full cruise price)
    • Premium Plan - $25 per day from $22.00
January 2023:

  • Gratuities increasing by $1.50 per guest per day. 
    • Standard cabins now recommended to pay $16 per guest per day.
    • Suite cabins now recommended to pay $18 per guest per day.
  • Wi-Fi price increases
    • Social Plan - $12.75 per day from $10.20
    • Value Plan - $17.00 per day from $14.45
    • Premium Plan - $18.70 per day from $17.00

November 2022:

  • Continuing to offer 48 hour online check in for Diamond and Platinum guests.  After going through priority check in, guests can drop off their baggage in their staterooms and then head to public areas.
  • Priority luggage delivery has been reinstated for checked bags.
  • Steakhouse prices will increase to $48 per person from $42 per person due to inflation and fuel prices.
  • Specialty restaurant pricing will increase across the fleet for Rudi's Seagrill and Bonsai Teppanyaki.
  • Limits operational hours for it's complimentary self-serve ice cream and frozen yogurt.
  • Adding a $5 charge for a third entrĂ©e.

October 2022:

  • Bringing back Dr. Seuss Green Eggs & Ham Breakfast. 
  • Changing breakfast room service menu. 
    • Removing items it claims weren't being ordered or were being thrown away.
    • Adding items to it's a la carte menu (additional cost) including breakfast sandwiches.
  • Limits up to 15 drinks per day with their unlimited drink package option.
  • Eliminated ability to purchase two bottles of hard liquor to be delivered to a passenger's cabin.  Claims it is an effort to curb violence on it's ships and not part of it's cost savings initiatives.
  • Onboard Wi-Fi package prices are increasing, but the new cost hasn't been made public yet.
    • Social Package - $8.50 per day (purchased before sailing).
    • Social Package - $10.20 per day (purchased on the ship).
    • Value Package - $11.05 per day (purchased before sailing).
    • Value Package - $14.45 per day (purchased on the ship).
    • Premium Package - $17.00 per day (purchased before sailing).
    • Premium Package - $19.55 per day (purchased on the ship).
  • Will begin stricter enforcement of lounge chair usage and remove belongings from chairs that appear to be unoccupied. (Not a new policy, a reinforcement of an existing one)
August 2022:
  • Dining Changes.
    • Pizzeria will no longer be a 24 hour operation.  They will operate from 9am-4am.
    • Lido Restaurant will no longer serve late night snacks.
    • Sea Day Brunch will be shortened by 1 hour.
    • Ocean Plaza will no longer serve a light snack menu for breakfast or lunch.
    • Room service now has to be called in to place orders, door hangers will no longer be used.
    • Complimentary occasion cakes (birthday, anniversary, etc.) will no longer be available during dinner in the main dining room. 
    • Chocolate Extravaganza buffet will remain closed.
    • Afternoon Tea Time will remain closed.
    • Cucina del Capitano reopens.
June 2022:
  • Chef's Table event resumes.
